This position assists in the development and implementation of after school as well as other student learning activities and experiences, including organizing and substitute classes, supervising program activities and events, and monitoring of students to ensure the efficient and safe operation of the after school programme. Description Duties: Permanent substitute for ASA staff as needed. Oversee and ensure a high level of curriculum implementation per class. Provide the ASA Manager with a student report at the end of each semester. Assist with the recruitment and enrollment of students in after-school activities. Ensure that the children have a positive experience and that their families are comfortable and satisfied with the care they are receiving. Oversee the social/emotional environment that allows students to build skills with confidence. Work effectively with students in after-school activities and assist with behavior management, discipline, interpersonal actions, and act as a role model. Help mentor students in a variety of learning and life experiences. Motivate the children to be involved in all aspects of the programme. Supervise the personal, educational, and creative performance of the student in a safe environment. Maintain the participant attendance records. Assist in special activities, games, and tournaments as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requisitos

Knowledge and Abilities: Have an interest in children and have experience working with groups of children. Have knowledge of child development or other relevant/suitable experiences. Cultural and physical differences and needs of children in assigned activities. Work effectively with students of different ages, abilities, and backgrounds. Establish and maintain effective working relations with program and school personnel. Have staff management and leadership skills. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Have knowledge of behavior management practices. Intermediate computer and technology applications. Communicate effectively in oral and written expression. Be punctual, dependable, responsible, consistent and flexible. Education / Experience: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish. Bachelor's in Education, Educational Psychology or related field. Experience assisting with implementation of children and/or youth programs and activities.
